Access from AnywhereWe hosted an unprecedented online event: a Virtual Art Gallery! This exciting webinar featured five members from IPBN member the Crafters of Ireland, a unique online marketplace founded by Bernadette Clancy who also serves as Managing Director at Solutions Consultancy. Through her work as a mentor for many years through Ireland’s state support for SMEs, start-ups, and entrepreneurs, Clancy met many designers, artists, and crafters who fell through the cracks when it came to growing their audience, so she decided to bring their beautifully designed products to the European market through the Crafters of Ireland online marketplace.
The crafters themselves bring this showcase of Irish craftsmanship the best of the Irish arts through painting, printing, fashion, photography, woodcarving, sculpture, and more. The items are made with locally sourced sustainable products and above all, an appreciation for artistry, history, and geography. Five of these artisans presented their crafts during the webinar, all of whom have a connection with Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula be it through their medium, past exhibitions, influence, or otherwise.
This joint event was attended by members of the IPBN, Portugal’s Irish Association, and the Irish Embassy in Portugal. We were delighted to have with us H.E. Ralph Victory, the Irish Ambassador to Portugal to open the ceremony with a few words of welcome.
