Ambassador Orla Tunney hosted at her residence IPBN members in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. We had the honour to count amongst our privileged guests with the presence of EU Commissioner for Science, Research and Innovation Carlos Moedas as guest speaker.
EU Commissioner Carlos Moedas highlighted in his brief intervention the challenges the EU faces in this sector essential for the development and the central role of the European Union in the world.
He also made the point that Portugal is very well placed in this sector with innovative work being accomplished in these 3 domains by Portuguese companies and institutes here in Lisbon, such as the Champalimaud centre for the unknown and around the country.
He also emphasised the importance and opportunity the two countries, Ireland and Portugal, have in contributing together to the development of these 3 sectors
