Part of the IPBN's mission and objective is to help our members in Portugal grow their businesses and develop strategic partnerships with Irish companies.

We therefore organised a four-day business trip of a group of IPBN Portuguese members to Cork City between Wednesday, June 21 and Saturday, June 24 where there had plenty of opportunities for meetings and networking with Irish Start-ups, entrepreneurs, and SMEs from different sectors.

Some of the highlights were:

• The welcome from the Lord Mayor at the City Hall,
• The introduction to all the local business agencies in Cork (ELO; IDA, CorkBIC, The Tech Industry Alliance and the Cork City Council)
• The visit to Green Rebel and Hovione
• Our B2B Matchmaking and networking events with Cork Chamber members and members from the EEN at the Innovation Hubs The Republic of Work and the Culture Co-Working Space and the Cork Chamber.
• And of course, all the amazing moments and the bond we have developed with all our fantastic and amazing members, travelling together.

Very grateful for everyone involved in making this trip special and a success.

• Seamus Coghlan, Head of Economic Development at Cork City Council, who welcomed us with the Lord Mayor at the City Hall and introduced us to all the local agencies based in Cork,
• John O’Neill who welcomed us at Hovione and William O'Brien at Green Rebel.

And of course, a special thank you to all our members who trusted us to join us in this business trip. We hope we have opened the doors for you for new business opportunities and partnerships.

Let's keep the conversation going! Very important . This is not a one off. We now have Dublin and Cork and next week, we’ll look at Galway.

And we are already inviting a delegation of Cork businesses to Portugal soon.

Day 1 – Wednesday June 21

PM – 6.30pm to 7.30pm

• Welcome from the Lord Mayor at the Cork City Hall 

EVENING – 8pm

• Dinner with IPBN members based in Cork and special guests

Day 2 – Thursday June 22

• Business Breakfast at the Local Enterprise Office 

AM - 1030 - 1200

• Visit Green Rebel - Green Rebel was founded by environmental advocate and entrepreneur, Pearse Flynn, to provide an Irish based, complete offshore survey service, support offshore wind energy projects, and help Ireland achieve its climate objectives.
