The Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) is pleased to announce the 6th edition of its annual flagship Sustainability conference to take place this year at IPBN member Martinhal Lisbon Oriente Tuesday March 18 from 0900 to 1pm, followed by a light lunch.

This is the moment where we celebrate St Patrick’s Day with the presence of the Ambassador of Ireland to Portugal and a Minister of the Irish Government.

The theme of the conference this year “Connecting territories: the best of urban-rural cooperation” will be debated in a series of captivating panel conversations with experts assembled from Ireland and Portugal to share their knowledge and experience in the following challenging area:

  1. Community development and urban planning, creating local communities where people connect around technology, regeneration and togetherness
  2. Vertical farming and its impact on traditional farming. As environmental consciousness grows, this talk will focus on reutilising and repurposing exisitng infrastructure within cities to develop local food security with urban communcities.
  3. Data Centres with the SINES DC project, a 1.2GW data centre campus developed outside the large cities in Sines Portugal, creating Europe’s largest and most sustainable data ecosystem with market-leading global connectivity.

It will be a great opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with key players in the sector, from both countries on an important topic “Urban vs Rural development”. With distinguished guests including Alma Ní Choigligh, Ambassador of Ireland to Portugal and an Irish Government Minister, the conference will foster cross-border partnerships between Ireland and Portugal for a more sustainable future.

Engage with key industry leaders, IPBN members, and executive partners, and enjoy networking opportunities over a light lunch. Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and drive impactful change!
