And first,

IPBN member Lawler Consulting posted about wildfires in Portugal: "A Call for Urgent Action. If you haven’t heard, Portugal is facing extreme weather conditions, with wildfires raging out of control across the northern regions. This is a direct consequence of climate change. We have employees on the ground in Portugal currently facing the harsh realities of the wildfires, including our ESG Lead and Sustainability Engineer, Kayleigh-Ann Myles, on the ground in Porto. She is leading a fundraising campaign for the Federação de Bombeiros Distrito do Porto (Porto Firefighters) to support the 4,000+ firefighters bravely battling these fires. Please consider donating and helping this vital cause."

As the European Capital of Innovation, Lisbon has attracted international companies, talent, jobs, and investment. For this reason, we, at the IPBN, have placed Innovation in the center of our activities this year. However, check this article from Start-Up Lisboa and the Unicorn Factory. Innovation: Can Europe compete? The current context is concerning. The EU has no company in the world's top 10 by market capitalization, and around 30% of European Unicorns have moved their headquarters outside Europe since 2018.

When it comes to tourism, Living in the Algarve noted, "Portugal is becoming an ever more popular tourist spot for the USA market, welcoming just over 1 million visitors in the first half of the year, catching up to British tourists. In the first six months of 2024, Portugal's tourist accommodations hosted 1,039,354 US travelers, almost reaching the 1,158,937 from the UK!"

Next, here are some upcoming IPBN Members Events:

IPBN Executive Partner Ardanis invited the IPBN members in Ireland and Portugal to Ardanis as they launch a celebration of their new Aileen platform next week on Thursday, September 26 in Dublin from 17h30 to 19h30. RSVP to info@ardanis.com. The exact location will be confirmed once registered.

With 4.25 billion email users globally and 319.6 billion emails exchanged daily, email remains a dominant communication channel. However, managing high volumes of email can overwhelm contact centres. Aileen powered by Ardanis, streamlines email processing by automating repetitive tasks, enhancing personalisation, and improving key metrics like AHT, FCR, and CSAT. The result? Faster resolutions, better customer experiences, and empowered agents. Discover how Aileen can elevate the performance of your contact centre.
