Spotlight on Amy Kerins, Marketing Director of QP Savills

Amy Kerins, Marketing Director at QP Savills moved from Dublin to the Algarve with her family several years ago. QP Savills has been active on the market for 30 years and is widely known as market leaders in luxury real estate. And with their association to Savills, they have access to around 700 offices and 40,000 staff members worldwide. QP Savills employs some 35 people who are all experts at what they do.

QP Savills is one of the sponsors of the upcoming IPBN Dublin Innovation Conference on June 20 at the Guinness Enterprise Center. The conference's main focus is doing business in Portugal and the implications of relocation, both personally and professionally. Registration for the event is still open.

Amy says, “So many young families are moving to the Algarve. The Digital Nomad visa has been a real driver and, since COVID, people are realising they can work remotely and are taking a closer look at how they want to live their lives. The Algarve used to be seen as a holiday destination, but now, more and more families are choosing to relocate permanently. Property prices have doubled in the past 5 years - we certainly hope this speed will slow down but values will not come down - demand is much greater than supply here in Portugal!”

QP Savills has an amazing, handpicked portfolio of developments right across the coast. If you're looking for something that's on a golf course, something that's on the coast, something that's closer to a Marina or town, they have the full range. QP Savills has been chosen as a real estate partner on the recently launched, ground-breaking development Arcaya.

Their core business is luxury properties and that's what they've earned their stripes on over the last 30 years, from resales of new homes to turnkey projects and resorts and developments. According to Amy, it's her dream job to be able to market these properties.

She said, “There are over 40 golf courses along the coast some of which are considered the very best in the world. And then of course, you've got the weather all year round, which makes it so appealing, especially for Irish or for Northern Europeans.

There's been an established Irish community in the Algarve since the '80s. Those who may only have seen it as a holiday destination previously are now seeing it as somewhere that they could live and have their primary home. The connectivity in terms of number of daily flights, Internet speed, and so on are just a few of the driving factors. Many new international schools are coping with demand as so many families flock to this region.

Every year QP Savills creates a property handbook that has anything and everything you could want to know about property in the Algarve: the buying or selling process, tax and visa programs, or things like schools, things to do, and what to look out for. The company focuses on maintaining an amazing database that they've been building for 25+ years and this guide is highly in demand.

“Innovation is, of course really important but at the end of the day, our job is about client relationships. If people are considering a move I couldn't recommend the Algarve enough. It’s an incredible place to live, to raise a young family, or to thrive no matter what stage of life you're at. Our team here has gone through the same thing and if anybody wants to talk about achieving goals or figuring out where to start, ask us. Whether it's about buying a property or just how to get started, our team is really happy to help where we can.”

But don't take our word for it— just take a look at the QP Savills 2024 Property Book!

Amy and all of us at the IPBN do hope to see you in Dublin where we would be delighted to chat and answer any questions you may have. Don't forget to register in advance here.
