Meet the Speakers: Case Studies and Business Success from the Interior

A Quinta in Minho, Virtual and Augmented Tours, and Olive Oil Production take center stage.

The final speakers at the upcoming IPBN Tourism Conference in Porto on November 14 will be discussing each one of their business success stories. They will highlight innovation and successful case studies from the perspective of businesses operating in the interior of Portugal, and we are delighted to welcome each of them to the stage.

Teresa Guimarães and Paulo C. Graça Moura, Owners and Managers of Quinta do Rapozinho - Cabeceiras de Basto will kick off the conversation from the perspective of their quinta, a former farm in Minho with houses that are spread across 100 meters. Each one was restored by the owners who held to the characteristics of the region and used recycled materials and furniture to lend modern charm and a welcoming environment for couples, families, and friends. Teresa is a trainer for hotels and restaurants in protocol, customer service, customer relationship management, and more. She has held various roles in restaurants, hotels, and gourmet companies. Meanwhile, Paulo brings his wealth of experience in innovation as a restaurant and bar owner, and his background in marketing in the leisure and golf sectors and beyond to round out the top-notch management team at the Quinta.

Next, Mafalda Ricca, Founder, and CEO at X-Plora (now VizitAR), will present stories from the perspective of her Tour Builder model for Virtual and Augmented Tours that brings in AR/VR, Gamification, AI, and utility NFTs to improve the visitor experience. Mafalda has successfully built strong relationships, negotiation, project management, and team management. Her solid experience in planning and implementing new projects for leading brands has helped her hone top-tier organizational and analytical skills and apply them to the tourism sector.

Finally, Claudia Pereira Reis from Vale do Lobo Quinta, will take the stage to present case studies as a producer of Olive Oil from the Trás-os-Montes region. Claudia completed a degree in Food Engineering from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a Masters in Environmental Engineering in Sustainable Development from the Universidade do Porto. Her career in quality and sustainability in both the automotive and chemical industries brings together expertise in management systems, external and internal audits, and motivation of human resources.

Each speaker will be introduced by Isabel Vellozo Ferreira, Partner at Vellozo Ferreira e Associados and IPBN Executive Partner. We look forward to hearing some practical implications of strategic thinking and gap assessment from the interior regions!
