The IPBN is showcasing Lisbon and Portugal's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem at our upcoming conference in Dublin, scheduled for Thursday, June 20, from 9h to 13h at the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC) in the presence of Niamh Collins, Director of the GEC, the event's host.
The conference offers attendees a comprehensive introduction to conducting business in Portugal, making it invaluable for those starting their business journey there. Participants will gain insider insights, essential information, and key contacts while networking with thriving Irish companies in Portugal, as well as IPBN members and Executive Partners. This event will showcase the dynamism and diversity of Portugal's entrepreneurial landscape. A series of engaging panel discussions and conversations with experts will provide valuable insights for anyone interested in Portugal's innovation landscape and the abundant business opportunities.
The third panel discussion will highlight key themes regarding doing business in Portugal through the lens of investment and tax incentives with Pedro Teixeira, IPBN board member and Senior Partner at Tax Libris, and Geoffrey Graham, Chair of the IPBN Board and Senior Partner at EDGE International Lawyers.
Pedro Teixeira kicked off his professional career as an external auditor in Ernst & Whinney (merged later on with Arthur & Young) for the Banking and Insurance Sector. He has held several senior management positions in multinational companies including CFO, Controller, and Board Assistant of Akzo Nobel, Océ Copiers and Printers, Panasonic, and Orizonia Group (owned by Carlyle Investment Fund) where he had a main role in a start-up project for a new airline company (2006-2008). Since 1999, he has been a senior partner and founder of Taxlibris Consulting, a local firm with international scope and activities with customers in Spain, France, Italy, England, and Denmark, to mention a few. As an Independent Financial Consultant, he developed several projects for small to big companies within his firm client’s requirements. For six years he managed Taxlibris España in the Madrid Community. Pedro has been developing his consulting activities for a long time on Investor relations and marketing, with several public and private clients within Portugal, Spain, and overseas.
Geoffrey Graham has been a Senior Partner at EDGE International Lawyers since 2003. This international law firm has expertise in a wide variety of areas, with emphasis on corporate, commercial, property investments, tax, and dispute resolution, offering a complete range of legal solutions for international clients. Geoffrey has been practicing in Portugal for 23 years and is a Portuguese lawyer, an Irish solicitor, and a solicitor of England and Wales. He is the partner in charge of the International Department, providing expertise on real estate, tourism, international tax planning, and aviation law. Geoffrey is registered with the Portuguese Law Society and the Law Society of England and Wales. A large part of the focus of his practice is providing practical solutions and advising on appropriate platforms for international investors, tailoring these following their core business requirements. He has lived and practiced in Portugal for 23 years, having previously practiced in Belfast and London, and is the Chairman of the IPBN Board of Directors since April 2022.
