Desmond founded the company that became Indaver Ireland which leads in sustainable waste management and was a founding member of the original IPBN in 2006.

He was a founder member of Educate Together in Ireland and is on the Board of Oeiras International School.

He is interested in and supports and invests in new initiatives in Technology, Environmental Services  and Education

He has been living in Portugal since 2003
